I forget about it mostly
because I am
an “American Girl”
from Southern California
Los Angeles
and San Diego
I played in the Pacific Coast beaches
and it only crossed my mind on St. Patrick’s Day
eating corned beef and cabbage to celebrate
something I didn’t fully understand
this little part of me
because I don’t believe in it (religion)
until someone reminds me
it’s ancient history
but it’s not even history
its presently
